Unter den argwöhnischen Augen der Lehigh Valley RR planten die Forstbesitzer der Region eine Bahn, die endlich nach 25 Jahren 1864 als Sullivan & Erie RR entstand und 1867 ihre 24 Meilen lange Bahn von Monroetown (bei Towanda) nach Bernice zu den Anthrazitkohlefeldern des Bradford County eröffnete (Bergwerke teils von der Bahngesellschaft selbst betrieben). Von Monroetown ging die Kohle dann über die Barclay RR (später: Susquehanna & New York RR) nach Towanda am Susquehanna River und dann zu den New Yorker Abnehmern. 1874 reorganisiert unter obigem Namen, 1884 an die zur Lehigh Valley RR gehörende Pennsylvania & New York Canal & RR verpachtet. | | Specials: | Zwei schöne, detailreiche Vignetten mit Personenzug im Bahnhof und pflügendem Farmer. | | Condition: | VF. | | Sold: | unsold |
