place: | Hamburg | | Picture: |  | | Number: | 1228 | | Info: | Die 1910 gegründete Gesellschaft gewann Marmor in Karibib (genau auf halber Strecke an der Eisenbahn Swakopmund-Windhuk gelegen) in Deutsch-Südwestafrika. Sie führte die Geschäfte der “Deutsch-Südwest-Afrikanische Marmor-Gesellschaft mbH” zu Swakopmund fort und besaß eine eigene Feldbahn zum Abtransport der Marmorblöcke zur Hauptlinie Swakopmund-Windhuk. Verwaltungssitz war Hamburg, Spitalerstr. 12 (Semperhaus). Als Folge des I. Weltkrieges gingen die Marmorbrüche in Deutsch-Südwestafrika 1914/18 durch Enteignung verloren. Fortan besaß die bis 1945 noch im Hamburger Freiverkehr börsennotierte Gesellschaft kein operatives Geschäft mehr; als einziges Aktivum verblieb eine rd. 5 %ige Beteiligung an der Bibundi AG. Der Dämmerschlaf endete erst knapp 60 Jahre nach Verlust des operativen Geschäfts, indem die Gesellschaft 1975 wegen Vermögenslosigkeit im Handelsregister gelöscht wurde. | | Availability: | R 9 | | Condition: | EF | | Sold: | unsold |
