Um die Jahrhundertwende dann in dem mächtigen, fast 10.000 Meilen umfassenden System der Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe RR aufgegangen (seinerzeit die größte Eisenbahn der Welt). | | Specials: | Original unterschrieben von CLAUS SPRECKELS (1828-1909) als president. Der deutschstämmige Spreckels (allgemein “Sugar King” genannt) besaß für viele Jahre eine Monopolstellung als Zuckerproduzent an der amerikanischen Westküste. Auch die Zuckerindustrie auf Hawaii war fest in seinen Händen.
