place: | Columbia, Pa. | | Picture: |  | | Number: | 306 | | Info: | Das 1814 erbaute dreistöckige Gebäude in Columbia, 170 Locust St. war anfangs ein Hotel. 1852 erwarb es ein gewisser Gerhardt Brandt, der die Eckzimmer im Erdgeschoss an die Detwiler Brothers Bank vermietete. 1860 erwarb Solomon Detwiler die Liegenschaft, 1864 wandelten die Detwilers ihre Bank in die Fist National Bank of Columbia, Pa. um, die 1917 mit der Columbia National Bank fusionierte und dann in größere Räumlichkeiten zog. 1967 rekonstruierten die neuen Eigentümer das Gebäude mit seiner originalgetreu noch aus der Detwiler-Zeit erhaltenen Inneneinrichtung, heute ist es das „First National Bank Museum“. | | Specials: | Mit Originalunterschrift von Solomon Detwiler als Cashier.
