Der hochfliegende Plan war der Bau einer Bahnstrecke von Duluth nach Süden bis zum Golf von Mexico. In der Realität aber berührte die Bahn keine einzige der im Namen genannten Städte, sondern führte im Süden des Staates Minnesota von der Kleinstadt Albert Lea nach Nordwesten über Freeborn, Matawan, Waldorf, Pemberton und Cream nach St. Clair. Nach Mankato zu kommen wäre von dort ein Katzensprung gewesen, aber auch das schaffte man nicht mehr. 1907/11 in der Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Ry aufgegangen.
