Mit kaum mehr als 100 Mitarbeitern ein in einem Dutzend Sparten tätiges Schmuckstück hanseatischen Assekuranzwesens im Miniaturformat, dessen Aufsichtsrat stets auch klangvolle Namen der Hamburger Kaufmannschaft zierten. Stets im Besitz der Familie Gaede, die zuletzt 100 % der Aktien besaß, 1986 an die Alte Leipziger Versicherung AG verkauft, die den Versicherungsbestand 1996 übernahm.
