place: | Bernburg | | Picture: |  | | Number: | 4581 | | Info: | Gründung 1885 unter Übernahme der deutschen Filialen der KG Solvay & Cie. in Brüssel (Sodafabriken in Wyhlen, Bernburg, Saaralben, Salzburgen, elektrolytische Fabrik Osternienburg), außerdem Kali- und Steinsalzbergwerk Solvayhall bei Bernburg und mehrere Braunkohlenbergwerke. 1939 wurde das Werk Bernburg unter NS-Aufsicht gestellt und ein Jahr später unter Zwangsverwaltung. 1948 Sitzverlegung des Unternehmens von Bernburg nach Solingen. Nach Ende des Krieges nahm man die Sodafabrikation 1952 in Bernburg als “Volkseigener Betrieb” der DDR wieder auf. 1991 wurde das Werk wieder in die Solvay-Gruppe eingegliedert.
