Kocher war Absolvent des Gewerbeinstitutes in Berlin und trat seine ersten Stellungen auf der Gutehoffnungshütte in Oberhausen und der Hermannshütte in Hoerde an. 1848 ging er als Direktor nach Haspe, wo er in den Jahren darauf das Werk auf den neuesten technischen Stand brachte. 1864 trat er als Gesellschafter in die neu gegründete KGaA ein. Kocher gehörte neben Leopold Hoesch und Reiner Daelen zu den Gründern des “Technischen Vereins für das Eisenhüttenwesen”. | | Specials: | Ausgestellt auf Jakob Kocher.
