Info:Die FRISCO entstand 1876 aus den Trümmern der transkontinentalen Atlantic & Pacific RR. Die Pleiten dauerten an: 1896 als St. Louis & San Francisco Railroad und 1916 als „Railway“ reorganisiert. Die Gesellschaft kontrollierte ein gewaltiges, über 5.000 Meilen langes, aus über 60 Einzelstrecken bestehendes Netz. Die von St. Louis aus nach Westen führende Hauptstrecke verzweigte sich dann in Monett, Mo. in vier Teile: Zwei nach dem oberen Westen führende Strecken nach Ellsworth, Ks. und Anthony, Ks., eine nach dem unteren Westen führende Strecke nach Sapulfa, Tx. und eine nach Südwesten führende Strecke nach Paris, Tx. Erst 1980 wurde die FRISCO an die Burlington Northern verkauft, die sich in der Folge von etlichen nicht länger benötigten Strecken trennte.
Specials:Herrlicher NBNC-Stahlstich in leuchtorange/schwarz, ungemein feine Vignette: Indianerfamilie beobachtet Bautrupps beim Eisenbahnbau, im Hintergrund die schneebedeckten Gipfel der Rocky Mountains.
Availability:Unentwertet. Nur exakt dieses Stück ist bei COX katalogisiert, ein UNIKAT aus einer uralten US-Sammlung. (R 12)
