Info:Gründung 1865 durch den bis heute wegen der von ihm gestifteten Preise weltberühmten schwedischen Ingenieur Alfred Nobel. 1876 Umwandlung in eine AG mit dem Namen “Deutsch-Oesterreichische Dynamit-AG, vorm. Alfred Nobel & Co.”. Fabrikation von Sprengstoffen, Schießmitteln und Munition sowie anderer chemischer Produkte in den Fabriken bei Lauenburg, Saarbrücken, Schlebusch, Würgendorf, Nürnberg und Troisdorf. 1931 Fusion mit der Rhein.-Westf. Sprengstoff-AG (Köln), der AG Siegener Dynamit-Fabrik, der Deutsche Sprengstoff-AG (Köln, vorm. Köln-Rottweiler Pulverfabriken), der Rhein. Dynamitfabrik (Köln), der Dresdner Dynamitfabrik und der Westdeutsche Sprengstoffwerke AG (Köln), mit denen ohnehin schon jahrzehntelang Kartellverträge bestanden hatten. Der größte Teil der Aktien befand sich bis 1914 in den Händen der 1886 gegründeten Nobel-Dynamite Trust Co., London. Ab 1926 Interessengemeinschaft mit der I.G. Farbenindustrie AG, weitere Großaktionäre waren zu dieser Zeit der amerikanische Konkurrent DuPont de Nemours und die britische Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd. Nach 1945 Sitzverlegung nach Troisdorf, 1962 Abschluß eines Organschaftsvertrages mit der ebenfalls zum Flick-Konzern gehörenden Feldmühle AG. Seit der Neugründung 1987 eine fast 100 %ige Tochter der mg technologies AG (vorm. Metallgesellschaft).
