Info:Der bedeutendste Montanbetrieb in Rußland, der sich in kurzer Zeit zur Waffenschmiede des Zarenreichs entwickelte. 1873 von Putilow errichtet, den man allgemein den “russischen Krupp” nannte. AG seit 1884. Die Gesellschaft befaßte sich mit der Förderung und Bearbeitung von Metallen, auch von Gold und Platin; Herstellung von Eisenbahn- und Telegraphen-Zubehör; Errichtung von Metallbrücken und -Konstruktionen; Bau von Lokomotiven, Waggons, Schiffen, Schwimmbaggern, Werkzeugmaschinen und Apparaten; Herstellung von Kanonen, Lafetten und Munition. Nach der Oktoberrevolution hiessen die Putilow-Werke “Roter Putilow”, später “Kirow Werk”, und sie blieben die Waffenschmiede der UdSSR. Deshalb waren auch in der Sowjetzeit die Auftragsbücher stets gut gefüllt.
