Dieses wurde 1907 gebildet, um im Mudza-Tal in der Nähe der Stadt Macequee in Portugiesisch-Ostafrika die Goldminen Muzda Reef, Aurora, Alluvial und Windaghil zu untersuchen und deren Ausbeutung vorzubereiten. Das Mudza-Tal ist ein Teil vom Manicaland im Osten des heutigen Rhodesien. Frühere Forscher (allen voran der berühmt-berüchtige Dr. Carl Peters) glaubten, hier das biblische Goldland Ophir gefunden zu haben. 1910 fusionierte die Deutsche Ophir-Minen-Ges. mit der 1898 gegründeten “Dr. Carl Peters Estates and Exploration Company” zur “South-East Africa (1910) Limited” mit Sitz und Börsennotiz in London. | | Specials: | Peters, eine der schillerndsten Persönlichkeiten der deutschen Kolonialzeit, hatte 1884/90 bereits die Deutsch-Oastafrikanische Gesellschaft gegründet.
