Bis heute hält die Kadoorie Familie die Mehrheit an der Gesellschaft. Das Peninsula Hotel wurde während der japanischen Besetzung von den Japanern beschlagnahmt und als deren Hauptquartier benutzt. Die zwei Söhne von Elly Kadoorie, Lawrence und sein Bruder Horace beanspruchten nach Kriegsende das Hotel zurück. Vier Jahre später wurden alle Besitzungen der Familie in China von der Volksbefreiungsarmee eingezogen, auch der Familienbesitz in der Bubbling Well Road in Shanghai. Die Brüder siedelten nach Hongkong über und entschieden den Wiederaufbau ihres Imperiums u.a. das Werk, das Strom für Kowloon und die New Territories lieferte. | | Specials: | Nennwert von 10 $ auf 7,50 $ je share herabgesetzt.
