Info:Der Hafen von Charleston, S.C., einer Stadt auf einer Halbinsel zwischen dem Ashley River und dem Cooper River, ist mit einer Kailänge von 25 km einer der größten an der Ostküste. Eine mittlere Wassertiefe von 40 Fuß erlaubte das direkte Umladen der Ladung von Seeschiffen in Güterwaggons der Hafenbahn ohne Zwischenschaltung von Leichtern. Von den knapp 10 Reedereien, die von Charleston aus weitere Ostküsten-Häfen, die Westküste und selbst Europa anfuhren, war die Sea Island Steamboat Co. die kleinste: Sie betrieb lediglich Küstenschifffahrt von Charleston über Edisto Island nach Beaufort auf Port Royal Island. Edisto Island ist eine 70 km südwestlich von Charleston der Küste vorgelagerte Insel, die früher von großen Baumwollplantagen beherrscht war und ab Ende des 19. Jh. für den Tourismus entwickelt wurde.

Availability:Bei FHW überhaupt erst ein einziges Mal versteigert worden (im Jahr 2005, damals in viel, viel schlechterer Erhaltung).
