Rückseitig unterschrieben von Delano und W.W. Astor. William Waldorf Astor (1848-1919), Sohn von John Jacob Astor unterstütze seinen Vater bei der Leitung des Familienunternehmens, doch war er eher ein Politiker. 1879 wurde er für die Republikanische Partei in den Senat gewählt. Eine heftige Verstimmung über sein Heimatland bewog ihn 1890 nach England überzusiedeln. Hier war er vor allem Verleger. 1916 wurde ihm der Titel eines Pairs verliehen.
