place: | Böhlitz-Ehrenberg bei Leipzig | | Picture: |  | | Number: | 580 | | Info: | Gründung 1901 in Leipzig-Plagwitz als Automobilwerke Leipzig GmbH durch Wilhelm Mayer und Wilhelm Hanke. 1904 umbenannt in Reform-Motoren-Fabrik GmbH, 1905/06 Umzug in eine neu erbaute Fabrik in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg, 1921 in eine AG umgewandelt. Hergestellt wurden anfangs kleine Benzin- und Gasmotoren, später auch Glühkopfmotoren. 1934 Übernahme der Fabrik durch die Firma H.K. Heise Maschinenbau, vormals Reform-Motoren-Fabrik. 1948 verstaatlicht als VEB Dieselmotorenwerk Leipzig. Hergestellt wurden dort Schiffsmotoren und Kältekompressoren. Nach der Wende als “DML Dieselmotorenwerk Leipzig GmbH” reprivatisiert. Russland war an den Motoren weiter stark interessiert und man versuchte den Markt weiter zu bedienen, doch es fehlte den potentiellen Abnehmern das Geld.
