Die Zweyte Assecuranz-Compagnie wurde 1824 gegründet. Das Stammkapital von 540.000 Mark grob Courant war in 180 Aktien zu je 3.000 Mark grob Courant eingeteilt. Bevollmächtigter war Carl Gadeke. Dem Direktorium gehörten Heinrich Gustav Pitt, Friedrich Nölting, Johann Christian Haltermann und Wilhelm Platzmann an. Die Gesellschaft erzielte einen Jahresumsatz zwischen 2,5 und 3,5 Mio.
