Zuerst Fahrradhersteller, ab 1904 Bau von Dreiradfahrzeugen mit Motoren von Lea-Francis. 1906 folgten Vierradwagen mit Vierzylindermotoren, die zum Teil von White & Poppe kamen. 1927 landete Singer mit seinem 850-ccm-Modell (Junior) einen großen Erfolg gegen Morris und Austin. 1956 geriet “Singer” in finanzielle Schwierigkeiten und die Gebrüder Rootes, die sich schon seit der Zeit vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg um den Verkauf der Singer-Fahrzeuge kümmerten, kauften die Firma auf. Dies war das Ende der eigenständigen Singer-Konstruktion.
