Jh. einen lebhaften Bergbau auf Silber, der die Berge der Umgebung wie einen Schweizer Käse durchlöcherte. Noch heute sind einige Stollen als Besucherbergwerk zugänglich. Später hielt, wie in allen Tälern des Elsaß, die Textilindustrie Einzug.
