Info:Gegründet 1854 als Charleston & Savannah RR. Die Gesellschaft baute die wirtschaftlich sehr wichtige Eisenbahnverbindung zwischen Charleston & Savannah in South Carolina, 105 Meilen lang. Der Staat war mit einem 27%gen Anteil an den Baukosten beteiligt. Im Bürgerkrieg wurde die Bahn für die Truppentransporte eingesetzt, wobei sie nach Kriegshandlungen ernsthafte Zerstörungen erleiden musste. 1866 reorganisiert und umbenannt in Savannah & Charleston RR. Die Gesellschaft ging 1873 in Konkurs, nachdem sie ihre Anleihe von 1856 nicht mehr zurück zahlen konnte. Ein gewisser Henry B. Plant kaufte die Bahn und brachte sie in die neu gegründete Charleston & Savannah Railway ein.
Specials:Sehr dekorativ gestaltet mit drei Vignetten in der Zierleiste links und Eisenbahnvignette. Original signiert von Thomas F. Drayton als Präsident (unentwertet). Thomas Fenwick Drayton (1808-1891), Grossgrund- und Plantagenbesitzer, verdienter Soldat im Bürgerkrieg im Rang eines Brigadier, persönlicher Freund von Jefferson Davis, leitete die Charleston & Savannah RR seit ihrer Gründung bis 1861. Mit Aufdruck: Confederate States of America.
