Dann wurde es zwischen Argentinien und Chile aufgeteilt. Patagonien, größer als Deutschland, zählte damals weniger als 100.000 Bewohner. Diese Firma handelte mit allem, was die herumziehenden Abenteurer, Viehzüchter und Bauern so brauchten. Gegründet wurde sie von wallisischen Einwanderern, die in Patagonien eine beachtliche Kolonie bildeten.
